Minnesota Law gives you the right to choose a repair shop to fix your vehicle.  Your policy will cover the reasonable cost of repairing your vehicle to it's pre-accident condition no matter where you have the rerpairs done.

The amendment prohibits an insurer from "engaging in any act or practice of intimidation, coercion, threat, incentive, or inducement for or against an insured to use a particular contractor or repair shop."  The amendmentto Minnesota Stat. 72A.201, subd.6 clause (7) also requires that once an insured had indicated that he or she has selected a repair shop, the insurer " must cease all efforts to influence the insured's or claimant's choice of repair shop."  Failure to do so could expose violators to both administrative sanctions and civil penalties of up to $10,000.00 per violation.
